Well said. I was drawn as a fellow physician to this series of questions: “Do you feel increasingly self-reliant?” “Are you noticing tangible changes outside of the therapy office?” “Are you working toward your objectives?”

All goal-driven outcomes that can be measured, even qualitatively, and provide feedback to both the physician (therapist) and the patient. It is a question I learned to ask reflexively in patient care follow-up, but it was certainly not part of the history and physical examination we were taught in school.

American Academy of Arts and Sciences has joint project with American Psychological Association on whether AI could do cognitive therapy. Sounds creepy but would solve the access problem
